Geosciences Bridge Program

  • Application deadline: 
  • Summary:  A summer program designed to recruit and train high school students, particularly from underrepresented groups, in various geoscience fields.The program offers a 6-week paid internship for students planning to pursue careers in a field of geoscience. The program includes lectures, field trips, hands-on activities, 1 course for college credit (math), bi-weekly seminars, housing, meals, travel to and from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, and a stipend.
  • Who Should apply:  Graduating High School seniors who plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree in a geoscience discipline; priority is given to students planning to attend a NOAA Cooperative Science Center academic partner.

SCAG Scholarship Program

The SCAG Scholarship Program offers local government and planning experience that students can use to develop long-term career goals. The scholarship will provide a $4,000 scholarship award for seven high school or community college students from the SCAG region (and potentially two additional scholarship awards that are not tied to a specific county, but would be awarded at the Regional Council’s discretion), a two-week internship with a local planning agency or council of governments, and the opportunity to meet with elected officials and practicing planners to learn more about careers in public service.

USGIF Scholarship Program

To further the advancement of the geospatial tradecraft, USGIF is dedicated to assist promising students studying GEOINT, geospatial sciences, and related fields. Scholarship recipients are selected based on their academic and professional excellence as well as demonstrated service to the community.

Students interested in using capabilities of geospatial science, data and technologies to address human security challenges are all encouraged to submit applications. Past scholarship recipients are encouraged to apply. Deadline:
